Exceptional Moldability

ZEONOR® Cyclo Olefin Polymer’s high melt flow rates enable precise manufacturing of microstructures and other fine features in complex designs. ZEONOR® 1430R is specially formulated with a low molecular weight to give higher flow during injection or compression molding. Uniformly high aspect ratio structures with sharp edges and corners can be replicated over wide arrays.

High Purity

ZEONOR® COP is more pure than other plastics (polypropylene; polystyrene) commonly found in diagnostic consumables. ZEONOR® resins contain less-than-detectable residual metals and there are no additives or process aids.

Low Protein Adsorption

ZEONOR® COP’s low surface energy minimizes the adsorption of proteins. In diagnostics and microfluidics with high surface area to volume ratios, and in assays with very low levels of analytes, the loss of precious materials is minimized.

High Solvent Compatibility

ZEONOR® COP is compatible with most alcohols, acids and bases. Commonly-used reagents in the Life Sciences do not affect the optical clarity or mechanical strength of the resin.

Interference-Free Results

Molecular diagnostics and point of care (POC) testing rely on fluorescence-based assays for detection and quantification of biomarkers used for identifying pathogens and viral load monitoring. A diagnostic test’s detection sensitivity can be depressed and accuracy compromised by polymer materials that contribute background signals. ZEONOR® COP offers the combination of unsurpassed low fluorescence and high optical transmission, enabling high signal-to-noise for highly sensitive assays.
